These are a couple of characters I've had in my head for a while. The top one is Hureth, a female elven warrior. Her husband, Laergulon, a male elven mage, is just below. They have Sindarin names, but aren't really Tolkien's elves. Her name translates as 'warrior woman', and his is 'man who is a song of sorcery' or 'man who sings sorcery'.
I was thinking about gender roles, and gender expression, and made them on Doll divine. Neither are trans, they are both cis, but both have a gender expression and occupation counter to the norm for their society. And humans get upset, as well.
It isn't a coincidence that they are married. Hureth likes girly boys, and Laergulon likes manly women. They are very much in love, though. But they are just each others type, which was the initial attraction.
